Election thoughts...
Basically two words sum up this whole election: Fuck everything!
Here's a list of people/things that I would prefix with the oh-so-American F-bomb:
1. Bush
2. Cheney
3. The South (let's just pull another civil war and get them the hell out of the union!)
4. Florida
5. ESPECIALLY OHIO
6. Republican "vote challengers" (yeah, that's cool... good job at the scare tactics in Ohio, guys)
7. The Repub. lawyers who, in PA, accused the polls of being tampered with (stuffed with Kerry votes), even though they got thrown the hell out of court.
8. The religious right.
9. Dumbass hicks who voted for Bush
10. Dumbasses who think Iraq was behind 9/11
11. Dumbasses who think Iraq had WMDs
12. Dumbasses who think we should have invaded Iraq just because their values were different than ours
13. Dumbasses who blindy support Bush in everything he does just because he's Republican (hey guys, I didn't like some things Clinton did, like Kosovo, even though I supported him as a President)
14. Dumbasses who hate homosexuals for no good reason
15. The 11 states that passed anti gay marriage laws and/or limited the rights of a civil union.
16. Dumbasses who say that liberals were all voting against Bush and not for Kerry
17. Angry conservatives who like to start fights with you (and now are the "rub it in your face" conservatives... most of these, I think, are based in Winchester)
18. The asshole pastors who said that voting for Kerry is a sin.
19. Dumbasses who think that Iraq is the only place in the whole world that ever had a dictator who wasn't looking out for his people and possessed WMDs
20. Frank Wolf
21. E.J. Pipkin
22. Oh, I forgot. Virginia.
23. Dumbasses who still bring up the 2000 election when "the Democrats tried to steal it" even though in several recounts (including an independent one by The Washington Post showed Gore to be the winner by over 1000 votes)
That's my laundry list for now... granted, there are some good, intelligent conservatives out there who I think are absolutely necessary to the political process. Though most of these people actually fit the libertarian mold moreso than the Republican mold, but they vote Republican (I think) because they're mostly concerned about economic issues over moral issues. Example: I really (surprisingly) like the Terminator, er, Arnold, as Gov. of California. He's pro-choice, pro-stem cell research, etc, but he's a Republican. That and I would totally vote for Jeff for Mayor of Annapolis (if I actually lived IN Annapolis).
